Dr. Julian Gaspar, is Clinical Professor of Finance and Executive Director of Texas A&M University’s Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER). He is responsible for internationalizing Mays Business School’s academic programs and faculty research. Dr. Gaspar was instrumental for institutionalizing the internationalization of Mays business curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate levels through increased offering of (i) international business courses, (ii) international business certificate programs, and (iii) overseas study initiatives. Dr. Gaspar teaches international finance and also conducts threefascinating study abroad programs, an annual five-week European Union-oriented summer study abroad program in Strasbourg (France), a two-week winter program in India, and is currently leading the China portion of the China-Russia program with Dr. Daria Panina. Dr. Gaspar is an International Economist by training with over thirty years of international expertise in academia and international financial institutions like the World Bank and Bank of America. He has travelled or worked in over 55 countries and closely studies Europe and Asia’s dynamic emerging market economies. He received his Ph.D in international and monetary economics from Georgetown University, an MBA from Indiana University, and BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Madras, India. Given his personal and professional background and interest, Dr. Gaspar is committed to infusing the importance of emerging economies in Mays business curriculum and to that end he has designed and developed the India study program. The primary objective of this five-week thrilling European study program is to expose Mays business students to Europe’s rich culture, cuisine and history on the one hand and the exciting business opportunities and immense challenges that the European Union economies present on the other.
